will a seiure show up on an eeg if you are having one while you are being tested?

	while it show up on an eeg if you are having a seizure? my son is having seizure type spells where his eyes go to the side and then twitch and stuff and he can't see, but he can still talk and everything. he had an eeg and he had one while they were testing him, so will it show up on the eeg if it is a seizure?

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Thu 24, Jul 2008 12:27am: Hi, How are you? An EEG detects the electrical activity in the brain. During a seizure this electrical activity is disturbed. An EEG can easily pick up any change in the electrical activity. The pattern of the brain wave activity helps in diagnosing the seizure type. An EEG may also help to pin point the area of seizure onset. Hope this helps!
