	what is the relivance of a women's blood count when pregnant? What determines the length of the pregnancy by th blood count? What is 7000+ in relation to weeks along?

	Answer by Dr Heinrik M, MD (doctor) on Fri 01, Aug 2008 06:13pm: Hi, The main indication for the blood count is to screen for anemia, which is indicated by the hemoglobin and the hematocrit. The blood count cannot predict how old the baby is, nor can it predict when you are going to give birth. The 7000 you are indicating likely refers to the white blood count, up to 16000 is within normal during a pregnancy. Discuss tests with your doctor also, so you won’t be too anxious when you get the results and you are still waiting for an appointment. Stay positive.
