Hello,
Your symptoms are suggestive of pharyngitis(inflammation of the pharynx, the portion of the throat that lies
just beyond the back of the roof of the mouth and stretches to the Adam's apple (pharynx). It can be
caused by an infection by a virus or bacteria.
The treatment depends on the underlying cause. Viral infections are managed with warm salt water gargles, pain
relievers like aspirin., and fluids.Rest adequately and do not smoke. If you are feeling uncomfortable with
cough, take over the counter cough suppressants. Also use throat lozenges or throat sprays. They are available
over the countert. Antibiotics are needed if bacterial pharyngitis is diagnosed.
If you develop a persistent sore throat that does not disappear in several days, or if you have high fevers,
swollen lymph nodes in the neck, difficulty in breathing or a rash then you must seek medical care
immediately.
Hope I have provided you with sufficient information. In case you have any additional queries, then pls post
us.
Take care and regards.
