my 15 yr old daughter has had the flu and now she has pneumonia she was taking azithromycin for a week and now she is still coughing some how long will the coughing last and what should i do

	my 15 yr old daughter has had the flu and was given amoxycillin and for two weeks she did not get well so i took her to the emergency room and was told that she had walking pneumonia and she was taking azithromycin for a week and now she is still coughing some how long will the coughing last and what should i do if she gets a fever again

	Answer by Dr.Ravindra Rajput (doctor) on Fri 08, Jan 2010 10:24am: Hi there, she has got complete course of antibiotics. Now we need to know whether cough is still productive. If it is dry, no need to worry, it will disappear over a time. If it is productive then you need to get the sputum culture and antibiotic sensitivity. Take care and regards.
