Hi,
The thoughts of sexual intercourse or sexual fantasies does increase one’s heart rate as there’s a release of
adrenaline at the time of such thoughts and this is absolutely normal. However, once the thoughts go away, the
heart rate comes back to normal. I don’t think you need to worry a lot. However, if you are an anxious
individual and the persistent anxiety keeps your heart rate high, then drugs like beta blockers does help in
preventing such episodes to happen. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
