If you have a cycle of 26-27 days then counting back 14 days the ovulation can occur around 12-13th day of cycle. You can add subtract one day for ovulation. Hence maximum chances of pregnancy will be during 10th-16th day of the cycle (fertile period). Since we do not know your last menstrual period, if Nov 31st fell between these fertile days then there is a chance of pregnancy. The chances of pregnancy increases with more frequent sex during the fertile period as unless you go for an ultrasound study to know when you exactly ovulate, it is difficult to comment for sure when exactly you ovulated. Normally the ovum cannot live beyond 3 days and the sperm beyond 24-48 hours. Hence timing is important. Usually couples are advised to try a couple of times everyday during the fertile period. Having said all this I also would like to add that even a single try at the right time during the fertile period can result in pregnancy. To confirm whether you are pregnant or not, you will have to wait for the expected date of the next period and see if you get it or not. If you miss it take the pregnancy test. So in a cycle of 26-27 days there is 50-50 chance of pregnancy.

Dr Kokil has explained about the fertile period and the concept of ovulation in a very simple manner which is easily understandable. Regarding the ideal time for confirming the status of pregnancy by urine for pregnancy test (UPT),the most accurate way to test for pregnancy is to wait until after your period is due. First appearance of pregnancy hormone, HCG, due to implantation occurs 6-12 days after ovulation. So if you don’t want to wait for your periods and test for pregnancy then you can test at 9 or 10 days past ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Aimstrip pregnancy test gives good results and can detect 20 mIU of HCG.I sincerely suggest you to do a urine for pregnancy test and if the test comes negative, then please wait for your periods and repeat the test after 1 week of your missed periods date. You can also get your blood serum levels of HCG test done. Unfortunately without knowing the date of your last menstrual periods, we cannot predict whether the day when you had unprotected intercourse falls in the unsafe period. I hope it helps.
