Blisters on tongue

Asked by ma (Female; 45; healthy ) on Thu 26, Nov 2009 07:33am :

I have painful itchy blisters on the tip and just behind the tip of my tongue. My daughter had one blister and it went away in 2 days. Mine has been lingering a bit longer, with no end in sight (4 days). I am presently rinsing my mouth with an OTC oral peroxide rinse. Would love to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with the family, but am not sure that will happen. Is this simply a virus and I need to just hang on until it clears out?
