	Answer by Dr. Pankaj Khater (doctor) on Fri 18, Sep 2009 07:34am: In a woman who is above 35, is a smoker and/or is obese, it has been seen that there is an increase in the risk of developing a blood clot in a vein, eg in the leg (deep vein thrombosis) or in the lungs (pulmonary embolism), or a blood clot in an artery, eg causing a stroke or a heart attack. So, a doc needs to be consulted prior to the usage of the drug.
