Answer by Dr Bobby V, MD (doctor) on Tue 10, Jun 2008 12:08pm:

Hi, You seem to have stomach infection, and have tested positive for Helicobacter pylori. This is a relatively common infection, and is easily curable in most people. Please consult yor GI doctor, who will probably give you a regimen consisting of antibiotics and acid-blocking drugs to help eradicate this infection. Studies have shown that a type of stomach cancer called MALT lymphoma, H pylori is positive. However in your case, I think that it is premature to jump to any conclusions. Please see an internist or a gastroenterologist for a complete evaluation. Do not worry, H pylori infection is treatable and does not lead to any long term sequelae in the vast majority of patients. Wish you all the best!
