Hi there.
From what you are describing you may be experiencing or at least beginning to manifest from a condition
characterized by increased cortisol in your body called "cushing's syndrome."
This syndrome is most commonly due to exogenous steroid intake (like for patients who have autoimmune diseases
who are prescribed steroids) and for someone who is not taking any of these kinds of medication, then a
cortisol producing nodule can be present in your adrenal glands. Another possibility is an increase in
stimulating-hormone release from your pituitary.
High cortisol levels can lead to lethargy, truncal obesity and weight gain, hump formation (on the upper
back), increased cholesterol, and cardiovascular disorders.
You may also have excessive production of testosterone that can lead to that excessive hair growth.
I suggest you have a formal consultation with your doctor or better yet, an endocrinologist. He may request
blood tests of your cortisol and testosterone and even imaging studies of the adrenals and pituitary to
pinpoint the problem.
