dont have my vicodin script wanted to know how many tramadol to take

	what is the eqivilant of tramadol as to vicodin.i dont have my vicodin script and i wanted to know if tramadol can be substituted. if so how much. i am taking 10 mg of vicodin for a disc in my back.

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Mon 14, Jul 2008 09:54am: Hi, Vicodin is a combination of paracetamol and hydrocodone while tramadol is an atypical opiod . Both the products are analgesics. It is very difficult to say how much tramadol will substitute for 10 mg of vicodin. The normal dose of tramadol ranges from 50 mg -400 mg. Please discuss this issue with your treating doctor as he will be able to know the exact dose as per your medical condition.
