brokle ankle and hurt both knees now one is a burning pain the makes leg hot and tingling foot HELP in alot of pain

	I fell 2 months ago and broke my ankle and bruised both knees but now my right knee is killing me and it cracks and grinds when I bend it. When I was at the hospital and again getting my cast everyone said that it is bruised and I will be okay What should I do I am in so much pain and it hurts to walk. My knee oftens feels like it wont bend.I have only mild swelling but the pain is under the kneecaps, My leg gets hot sometimes at night and I get tingling feelings down to my foot. Please help what should I do

What you are having is indeed an arthritic episode with inflammation of the joint capsules and some muscles close to the joint. The cracking and grinding sensations alse mean that the cartilage protecting the bone surfaces may already be damaged as well. The first part of the work up for this condition is to obtain X-rays of the area to see the extent of damage, and to rule out more serious causes such as fractures. Sometimes, an MRI is necessary to further delineate the structures and pinpoint the problem. Other possibiilties would include 'bursitis' which is inflammation of the tendons close to bony surfaces. Treatment for this condition would include anti-inflammatory drugs, rehabilitation and rest, and even steroid shots to the joint or to the painful areas. Regards and God bless.
