breastfeeding and taking Delsym

Asked by tanaka (Female; 30; USA; nothing to be concerned about; Relevant drugs:none ) on Sun 14, Sep 2008 09:21pm :

I have a cough from the common cold and am breastfeeding my 3 and 1/2 month old baby. Is it safe to take Delsym to suppress my cough and not worry about nursing my baby?

Hi, Thanks for writing in. Some forms of Delsym are considered somewhat compatible with breast feeding. However I would suggest you to check with your doctor before you take the medication. Take care!
