Hi.
I believe that in your situation, there should be a balance between the risks and benefits of such treatments.
While chronic thickened endometrium may increase your risk of developing endometrial cancer, I think the this
risk is somewhat less than the risk of developing heart and vascular problems from taking the hormonal drug.
This drug may also affect the way your body handles lipids and cholesterol.
I could think of two solutions for this. One is that you can continue this hormonal drug, but at the same
time take other drugs that will lower your risk of cardiac events such as that of cholesterol lowering drugs.
Another solution is you can discontinue this hormonal drug, but make sure you have serial transvaginal
ultrasounds to monitor the thickness of the endometrium.
I suggest that you discuss this at depth with your gynecologist and cardiologist and I'm sure you can
strike the proper balance between all the risks and benefits.
Regards.
