Looking for non prescription pain control options for severe SI dysfunction and mult. falls

	I have severe spinal stenosis with nerve root impengement at L4-S1. I also have periformis syndrome and a "loose floppy SI joint" I have pain that is 10 on a 1-10 scale. I have an appt with a rehab/pain specialist in 4 days and my PCP has refused to treat my pain anymore. I wear an LSO for support however I have started falling when I walk. I get a sever pain in my hip/leg and my leg turns to "jelly" and I go down. I need to find a way to control the pain til I see the new doc in 4 days. I am at my wits end and I can't take it anymore. Is ther anything I can do I have tried ice and heat and my TENs units. I cannot lie down or stand or sit with out severe pain. I have not slept in 3 days. Any ideas??? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Sat 04, Oct 2008 05:35am: Hi, Thanks for writing in. I would suggest you to take complete rest continue with the ice therapy and ask for prescription pain killers. You can take Motrin if you are unable to get a prescription. Take care!
