I had my left ear drum ruptured at the age of 14 (26 years ago). Can a cars sub-woofer(s) re-rupture it? I put 550 watt subs in my car 9 months ago and I keep the volume at the same level all the time. Tonight I went to the store, and approx. 30 minutes after exiting the vehicle I started getting a White noise or humming sound in that ear. I can hear sounds normally from that ear but the humming inhibits what I am hearing. Background on initial rupture: Abusive parent, hand cupped, slapped me on the left ear. Wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't an object that caused the rupture.
