Hi there.
A second bout of shingles though may be uncommon, is possible. This would usually present with blisters at
one side of the body that follows a dermatomal distribution (along the track of a nerve). The fever that you
experienced may or may not be related to this as fevers of that character may be non specific. On and off
fevers are common in connective tissue diseases, or insiduous chronic conditions such as tuberculosis or
sarcoidosis.
Other causes of the blister are other viral or bacterial infections and I suggest you have this looked at by a
dermatologist for proper assessment and management. If this really turned out to be shingles, then anti-viral
therapy may be warranted as well as medications for the pain and the itchiness. For now I suggest you avoid
scratching the area and to keep the area dry. Regards.
