My stepson's mother did a home stool test and supposed DNA test to test for food sensitivities from a lab called
enterolab.com. Prior to the test he had absolutely no symptoms of food allergies, sensitivities, or intolerances. He had an
allergy test done at a reputiable allergy and asthma clinic. He has environmental allergy induced asthma. As long as he takes
zrtec he is fine. The labs came back. The range that a person could fall into is 0-350 and the positive range for a food
sensitivity is anything greater than 10. My stepson had a 11 for gluten, 14 for soy, and an 8 for dairy. His mother is
constantly changing his diet. For almost a year he didn't gain weight or grow taller. Is this lab repuitable and are
their results accurate. The DNA test came back saying that he was a carrier for celiac disease. Does this mean that he will
get or has celiac disease. It is difficult to explain that just because you are a carrier of the gene doesn't mean you
will get the disease. My husband and I have had a hard time finding a doctor that knows enough about food sensitivities to
get a straight answer about the test that was done along with what other tests that could be done to diagonse these
sensitivities. My stepson has had gluten, soy, and dairy since he has been diagonsed through the at home lab results. He had
absolutely no reaction (all of the things his mother said happened) when he didn't know that he was eating it. Which is
why my husband and I think it is all a hoax. So I guess my questions are is the stool test done at home, mailed in, and
results received through e-mail accurate? Is there another test that could be done to coroborate the first test? And does
having dairy affect behavior in children?
