In the last 3 wks I have had testing a Gastro Dr found that my pancreas is not breaking down food the way it is supposed to and prescirbed Viocase Now I have a kidney and bladder infection and am on antibiotics for that but am still in horrible pai

I was recently diagnosed w/ a problem with my pancreas not creating enough enzymes to break down fats,the way I understand it the pancreas is not doing what it’s suppose to do, RX-Viocase, now a Kidney and Bladder infection that will not go away, all within 3 wks, terrible back pain

    it appears that you may have pancreatitis which is causing all these symptoms. Another possible reason could be a Irritabel Bowel Syndrome induced by pancreatic lipase undersecretion.

    The Kidney and bladder infection may or may not be related to the pancreatic disorder and may need to be treated seperately.

    You may need to get this analyzed and investigated. You must visit a doctor and get yourself examined and then get the tests done. Some of the tests used are: Serum amylase and lipase may triglyceride blood tests, enzyme measurement in stool, others include X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI’s and perhaps MRCP (magnetic retrograde cholangiopancreatography). Urine culture and sensitivity tests may also be needed to diagnose the cause of the bladder and kidney infections.
