Hi, How are you? Scrotal swelling is abnormal enlargement of the scrotum and may be due to possible inguinal hernia, as Dr Kokil mentioned, certain medical treatments, congestive heart failure, epididymitis, hydrocele, injury, orchitis, testicular torsion and varicocele. If this just happened recently, apply ice packs to the scrotum for the first 24 hours, followed by sitz baths to decrease swelling. Wear a loose-fitting athletic supporter for daily activities and avoid excessive activity until the swelling disappears. If it persists, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Your complete medical history and physical examination with detailed examination of the scrotum, testicles, and penis are important. A scrotal ultrasound may be done to determine where the swelling is occurring. And treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted. Warm regards.

When one of the testicles is enlarged it can be due to a hydrocele, varicocele, tumor or cyst. Hydrocele is a collection of sterile fluid in the cord attached to the testicle. Get an ultrasound scrotum done to confirm the diagnosis.
