severe pain from buttocks down leg to feet. unable to sit or walk

i had a microdiskectomy 7 weeks ago. 2weeks after i started having severe pain in my right buttock and down my leg.i have taken pain pills and muscle relaxers and also doing phyiscal therapy.nothing has helped.the pain is so intence that i am unable to walk.what advice can you give me?my doctor said there was nothing that could be done.

Hi there. I'm sorry to learn that you are in this much pain, especially if the surgery you had should have taken care of this problem. From what you have described, I believe that this can all be still part of the entire healing process which can really take some time. While waiting for complete healing and restoration of function, it is best to have adequate pain treatment, and be managed by specialized pain centers. Some pain would warrant specialized techniques such as nerve blocks, which can be performed by qualified anesthesiologist. Make sure also that you continue with your rehabilitation and physical therapy program. Regards and God bless.
