severe head pains

	I originally just had occasional headaches, now I have a constant headache thats associated with hair loss, dizziness,occasional nausea, but the pain in head is so severe now that it consumes me!!! painful to even lay head on pillow! head feels heavy whats wrong with me????

	Answer by Dr.Bhumika Aggarwal (doctor) on Tue 18, Nov 2008 12:13pm: Hi, There could be several causes of the symptoms you are having - it could be due to migraine, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, chronic subdural hematoma. Is there any history of fall, trauma, seizure , etc? Since when have you noticed these symptoms? Are you on any medications currently? Take some pain releif medications and see if it helps with your symptoms. This could also be giant cell arteritis. If your symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor because then you would need to get certain investigations done . Consult your doctor for a definite diagnosis.
