Answer by Dr. Harsha Priolcar  on Sun 20, Dec 2009 10:33pm:

Hi, It is difficult to comment on skin conditions without a proper examination. It could be an insect bite or a superficial skin infection that is itching him. A soothing lotion (calamine) may help relieve the itch. Genital warts in adults, are very common and can spread rapidly even when the affected person is asymptomatic. In small children, genital warts may raise the possibility of sexual abuse but in many cases it is due to vertical transmission (transmission from mother to baby, with the infection remaining sub-clinical for a long time, only to appear when immunity decreases). Transmission from using common towels etc may happen but is not proven. It is best to see a doctor and determine the exact cause. Hope this helps. Take care.
