Hi, Chances are that this could be arthritis, shoulder subluxation. You could try some warm compresses, rest, local analgesic gels and oral pain relief medications and see if it helps with your symptoms. If the pain persists, you would need to consult his doctor for a clinical examination and a xray if required. This could be a rotator cuff injury or ligament tear at the shoulder joint or infection of the shoulder joint space. Regards.
