sex after hysterectomy

	What are the risks of having intercourse 6 weeks after hysterectomy as opposed to waiting the full 8 weeks I was told to wait?I have been told that if I have sex too early it could tear the skin over my cervix and cause my intestines to possibly fall out through my cervix,is this really true???

	Answer by Dr.Rohit Agarwal (doctor) on Thu 08, Oct 2009 10:53am: Hello, Yes it is true. After surgery tissue needs some time to heal completely. During intercourse the activity is very intense which could result in tearing of partially healed wound not only vaginal but others too. Take care.
