Hi. There has been considerable interest in relationship between use of green tea and various health benefits including prevention & improvement of obesity, heart disease, cancer, stress and many lifestyle-related diseases). Although there are various studies reporting such health benefits but none has shown any credible evidence to support qualified health claims; same is true for obesity also. Evidences have also indicated that green tea polyphenols can in fact cause oxidative stress and liver toxicity at certain concentrations. A number of green tea related products in the market make claims for thinning the stomach lining, but one must understand that such claims are strategically worded. So, one should exercise caution when consuming herbal products produced from concentrated green tea extract. As on date, any effect of green tea on thinning the stomach lining is equivocal.
