Asked by Unregistered (Male; 58; USA; hypertension; Relevant drugs:diovan, 80mg ) on Mon 04, Aug 2008 11:12am :

I take 80mg of diovan for hypertension. Some days my blood pressure is 102/68 which makes me tired. So, instead of taking the diovan daily, can I take it on just the days when my blood pressure creeps up?

Answer by Dr Simran, MD (doctor) on Sat 09, Aug 2008 05:49am:

Hello cowboyup 12, Diovan helps lowering the blood pressure. If your blood pressure gets lowered you should consult your physician regarding the adjustment of the dose. You should get your levels monitored first to confirm if they are fluctuating and then get the adjustment of the doses done so that a level is maintained.
