Hi,
Thanks for writing in. Joint stiffness is most commonly due to arthritis or infection. Is there any
history of trauma in the recent past? Arthritis can occur due to a number of causes like rheumatoid arthritis,
septic arthritis, due to gout, any metabolic disorders, hormonal changes, micro trauma to the joint cartilage
which can happen due to degenerative diseases in the bone.
Is the stiffness present only in the morning or all day? Dizziness has two main reasons one cardiac like low
blood pressure or premature beats or arrhythmias; and the other cause being infections to the vestibular
apparatus. Have you had a sore throat in the recent past? As this could cause labyrinthitis leading to
dizziness, also if the infection was with streptococcus, chances of rheumatoid arthritis are more.
Drugs which you are on can cause headache, stomach upsets and dizziness, but the chances of side effects are
very rare.
I would suggest that you visit your physician and orthopaedician to rule out the possible options and
treatment accordingly.
Best.
