Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Wed 08, Oct 2008 10:26am:

Hi, Thanks for writing in. It is important for a patient with hypertension who gets diabetes to maintain both blood sugar and blood pressure under control. Diabetes and hypertension are risk factors for diseases like stroke, and cardiovascular disease and kidney disease. Diabetes if uncontrolled can cause neuropathy and RSD also is a progressive neurological condition resulting in burning pain. Please make sure your diabetes and hypertension are under control. Take care!
