calcium deposits - Hard know on left upper thigh

	I fell out of the ceiling onto my garage floor in Nov. I now have a hard knot on my left upper thigh. I was told this is a build up of calcium deposits. Is there anything I can do to make these go away?

	Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Mon 06, Jul 2009 02:58am: Hello, The symptoms are suggestive of non hereditary myositis ossificans.In this calcifications occur at the site of injured muscle, most commonly in the arms or in the quadriceps of the thighs.Apply warm compresses and take some aniti inflammatory medicines.If the symptoms persist then surgical debridement may be needed.
