Hemangioblastomas account for 1 to 2% of all intracranial tumors. Common locations include the cerebellar
hemisphere, vermis (part of the cerebellum), brainstem, spinal cord, and the cerebrum.
Treatment options for hemangioblastoma include surgery, radiation therapy, and radiosurgery.
Complete surgical resection is curative if the tumor can be readily accessed. This is particularly true for
cerebellar hemangioblastoma. If the tumor is unresectable, recurrent, or incompletely excised, radiation
therapy and radiosurgery (using gamma knife or modified linear accelerators
