When did i concieve

	I was with a man on march 26 or 27th and then had a period on march 28th until april 1st. I then meet my new boyfriend on april 1st and had intercourse on april3rd and so on from then on. I fount out i was pregnant on may 8th, on june 3rd i went to the doctor and my baby measured to be 8 weeks and 3 day old, and on sep 10th my measurments from the baby were 23 weeks and 5 or 6 days which puts my due date at the beg of january. Now i know doctors start counting from a womens LMP to get due dates so with that said when my i am 40 weeks come january is my baby realy on 37 or 38 weeks old since a women doesnt ovualte until 1 to 2 weeks after LMP. And when they measure my baby is that the babys growth from when it was concieved or is that from my LMP that confusses me alittle. I know it would have been hard for me to have gotten pregnant on march 26 27th since i dought i was even ovualting and i had a period the day after i just need a little help in answering my concerning questions to help me ease up and stop stressing so much if you could help that'd be great and if you have any questions or concerns to help answer this question just ask thank you so much.

You are correct in thinking that the duration of the pregnancy is calculated from the LMP. THis is because it is difficult to find the exact date when ovulation has taken place and when the foetus was formed after the ovum was fertilized. Further the due date is calculated as to be as a range and therefore it is not fixed to be in the exact date in January. It may occur a few days before or after that. This range is usually +-2 weeks. Please also note that in some cases the ovulation may take place differently than the regular mid-cycle event. Suffice to say that in most women the ovulation and menstrual cycle appear to be in tandem but may actually be independent for practical purposes. Hope this helped.
