Tumor in my Uteras - Gyneacologist suggested hysterectomy

Asked by Unregistered on Sun 16, Mar 2008 08:28pm :

On Sat I was told I had a tumor on my Uteras and it is cancer.I am 65 years old. The Gyno said i needed to have a hysterectomy asap.....he said he will organise it as quickly as possible. My daughter came into the room and we told her too. We were both in shock at the time and had no questions to ask. I've rung him this morning and he said he's waiting to hear from the oncologist from the hospital. I don't know what else I'm supposed to do, i don't have private health cover and wanted to know how long should i wait or is there someone else i should go see now that i'm sure it's cancer. Anxiety is setting in and i have nobody else to turn too. Should i see any other doctors or just wait for the call.

Hi. I really do understand your concern lady. Well……if you are sure that the tumor is cancer, removal of the tumor along with the uterus, tubes and ovaries….ie…….a complete hysterectomy is what you need ideally. This would help prevent further spread of the cancer. You can always take a second opinion for surety. Get well soon!
