Swollen bug bite on daughters leg~warm to the touch and hard.

My daughter was bit by a bug, it is swollen, red, warm to the touch. Should I take her to a doctor?

Hi. Yes, I believe that this would require immediate medical attention. Insect bites have the tendency to become infected (secondary bacterial infection) and if not treated, the infection may get worse and may involve larger areas of skin and subcutaneous tissues (this is called cellulitis, and is serious once larger areas of skin becomes involved). A course of antibiotics may be needed, as well as shots of anti-tetanus vaccines or immunoglobulins. Regards and God bless.

My 1 yr old son has 2 places that just came up on his leg that are red & hard & slightly warm to the touch, what could this be & what should I do???
