Short-term Memory Lost

	Asked by Unregistered (Female; 45; hypertension - diovan HCT 80mg. sleep apnea - s7 machine -- have not use it in years, gain 40 lbs. over 4yr period, depression -- took lexapro for 3 months in 10/07; Relevant drugs:diovan HCT 80 mg, Lexapro, CPAP machine ) on Sat 31, Jan 2009 04:35am :
	i was disgnosed with sleep apnea in 2/05 and used a s7 for 8 month and hypertension in 2004 and took diovan 80mg until 2007. i am five days into restartin diovanHCT 80mg. i find it difficult to focus and remember things. for example: Friday i was helping a customer with printer connections and was to contact facilities to replace the furniture in its position. by the time i got to my desk i totally forgot what i was suppose to do. before that, i told a very important test and was not able to finish because i could not maintain focus. am i experience shortterm memory lost?

	Answer by Dr Veena, MD (doctor) on Mon 02, Mar 2009 09:24am: Short term memory loss could be due to depression, dementia, aging, stroke, head injury, alcoholism, or due to side effects of certain drugs. I would suggest that you get a CT scan brain done to see what is the cause and visit a neurologiost.
