Red burning splits on penis shaft

Asked by loosewheelnut (Male; 64; nil; Relevant drugs:nil ) on Sat 01, Aug 2009 10:10pm

The foreskin on my penis has gone red (all the way round)and is swolen, and has developed a few small splits(not blisters)in the skin which shows a slight smear of blood if wiped. There is also a burning feeling only when the foreskin is pulled back from the penis head (normally I cant feel any burning as long as I dont pull the foreskin back). This is on the inside of the foreskin, (when the foreskin is pulled back from the head the redness is then level with the centre of the penis shaft). I had this 10 years ago and now its returned some 8 weeks ago with no signs of clearing up. I thought it might be herpies even though I have not had sex with anyone except my spouse. I have tried herbal cold sore pills with no reaction. I have tried paw paw cream which took away the red and burning feeling but these returned the moment I stopped using the cream. This problem is confined to the inside of the foreskin so could it still be Herpies even though I have no blisters ? Thank you Ralph

Hi, Thanks for your query on AMD. Your symptoms suggest some kind of infection. It can be yeast (Candida infection), STD like syphilis or herpes can not be completely ruled out may have a dormant period of 5-10 years in appearance of secondary stage. I would advice you to consult your urologist soon to reach final diagnosis and cure. These symptoms are not normal and easy to live with. Hope this helps.
