Numbness from elbow to fingertips

	My new job requires non stop arm, wrist and hand motion all day for eight hours straight. Now I wake up in the morning with numbness from my elbow to my fingertips in both arms. What does this mean?

Starting in 1993, I started working in call centers. I started noticing a numbness only in the pinky and ring fingers of both hands while playing drums. I thought little of that, because it didn't really affect me until about 3 or 4 years ago - and the band had broken up. I started playing regularly 4 years ago. The numbness was much more severe. I went to an orthopedic surgeon/sports injury doc. We did a nerve test. I had mild to intermediate CTS and Ulnar Nerve issues (that affect hand strength and the pinky and ring finger). 2 surgeries later, 1 for each arm, I'm playing regularly again without the numbness. Surgery is the last resort, but it worked well in resolving the issues with my numbness. Talk to your doc!
