KNEE CAP PAIN WITH PRESSURE APPLIED OR UPON KNEELING - Severe pain in knee X-ray didnt reveal any information

	For several weeks now I have had severe pain in my knee (specifically to lower right side) when I squat, kneel and apply pressure on knee area, also if pants press against specific area or if knee is bumped in this area. I have been to Family Doctor who ordered X-rays but nothing found. Any suggestions or should I see an orthopedic specialist? Pain is not continous only when instances above occur but have to be VERY aware of movements.

	Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Mon 06, Jul 2009 04:37am: Hello, Knee pain especially after squatting or kneeling can be due to anterior cruciate ligament injurues or patellofemoral syndrome. Allowing the inflamed tendon to rest and using ice on the inflamed tendon for 10 to 20 minutes can help reduce the inflammation.Also take some anti inflammatory pain killers like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac and consult a physician/orthopedician for confirmatory diagnosis.Hope it helps.Take care and regards.

This will reduce the pain in no time and reduces the inflammation too. I realized how bad it was at camp a few weeks ago..I have NOT talked to my pediatrician yet. I see this problem more often when I apply pressure..I have been using Ibuprofen and an ice pack. The ice pack just seems to make my knee numb.. what should I do??
