The first time I noticed anything was wrong was when my hair started falling out, suddenly and quickly until eventually I
lost it all. I also felt very tired and just generally not myself. I gained about 50 lbs in a couple months and was told I
had a thyroid disorder. I had a thyroid scan and uptake. My family doctor told me that my thyroid was actually overactive (I
don't see how since I gained so much weight) and then said that I had hashimoto's thyroiditis. I went to an
endocrinologist and she looked over the test results and said that my thyroid was underactive almost to the point of
completely shutting down and told me to immediately stop the medication my family doctor had prescribed. I had bloodwork done
that day and once again about a month later. Both results showed normal thyroid function, but my hair was still falling out
in clumps and I was still gaining weight. My hair has now started growing back with no signs of falling out again, yet. I
have a long list of other symptoms that are troubling me and now I am wondering if the root of my problems is something other
than they thyroid problems I had to begin with. I'm almost sure of it since my thyroid is now normal. I have experienced
3 TIAs (I assume that is what they are and if not, during these "attacks" I have every symptom of a TIA) My blood
pressure has risen to 156/96 from the 120/78 that is usually is. I have always had 20/20 vision, but I am experiencing some
major vision changes. Sometimes my eyes "black out" and I can't see at all. It clears up within a minute or
so, but my vision is constantly blurry with "floaters" and "black spots". I also at times lose all of my
peripheral vision. I have had several recurrent kidney infections. I have also experienced bloody/moucusy stools and my
stools are now always yellow in color.I know this is a lot and I am unsure if the symptoms are all related. I worry that it
makes me sound like a hypochondriac, but I need answers!
