Don't feel my heart in the chest and am lightheaded although blood pressure and pulse are normal. but feel like the heart is taking shorter beats than usual

Hello, For some 24h now I don't feel my heart beating in the chest. I used to feel it every day ... I was aware of it beating and stuff. Now it's like it has shorter beatings ... even when I'm making some effort I still don't feel it beating faster. I measured my bloog pressure and it's somewhere around 120/65. I don't know if I should worry about this or not. I also feel lightheaded. Plase ansewer so I know if I should go to the hospital about it or not. Thank you, Costin Alexiu

Answer by Dr.Rohit Agarwal (doctor) on Fri 07, Aug 2009 03:41am:

Dear, Normally one should not feel his/her heart beat. What is your pulse rate? What you have now is normal, earlier there must be some reason for feeling of heart beat, it could be high BP, increased heart rate due to anxiety etc. Observe your BP for 7 days at same time once a day and record, any abnormallity or you again feel beats consult your physician.
