Can you give me some information concerning hyperthyroidism or Graves Disease?

Asked by Unregistered (Female; 43; not contributory; Relevant drugs:metropolol, tapezole ) on Thu 17, Jul 2008 07:57am :

I was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. My I123 Uptake and scan indicated that I have a goiter. My T3 is 304. My T4 is 14.9. My TSH is .02. I have been waiting about a month to see the endocrinologist. My PCP isn't really telling me much information. He prescribed a beta blocker and tapazole. I have been having heart palpitations, hand tremors, dizziness, eye twitching & dryness, frequent urination, bowel movements more often, exhaustion, numbness and tingling in both hands, decrease in menstrual cycle, night sweats, hair loss, acne cysts, muscle weakness, and HOT flashes. Is it possible for medicine to correct this? Is this condition considered Graves Disesase? Will I have to have my thryroid removed? I would appreciate any help you can provide.
