Bruised Calf

Asked by julia james (Female; 37 ) on Tue 24, Nov 2009 02:02am

I had a blow to the calf on Saturday evening from a fall. My entire calf is bruised all the way around and up to my knee and around my ankles. My ankles and calf are swollen. There is a tender to touch lump on the side of my calf that's red and burning. I can walk without too much pain and move my ankle around. Today I have had pins and needles in my foot.

Hi Welcome to the AMD forum! There appears to be a hematoma formed on your calf which is a localized collection of blood. Also you seem to be having a lot of inflammation. Keep the leg raised on a stool or chair. Take OTC anti inflammatory analgesics. Take an appointment with your PCP and get this checked out as the fluid collection is causing pressure on the nerves as you have tingling now. Hope this helps. Take care!
