	After having intercourse with my wife tonight I found that there was blood in my sperm. This has never happened before. Ive only had two sex partners while being sexually active. Im kind of nervous So what does this mean?

	Answer by VanessaMD (doctor) on Mon 04, Aug 2008 09:03am: Hi I understand you are worried about this however, based on your post there seems to be no cause of too much worrying here. Hematospermia or blood associated with ejaculation may have been caused by the sexual activity. The male genitalia is quite sensitive and vigorous sexual activity may cause some irritation or even mild injury. I suggest that you continue to observe this. This should resolve spontaneously. Other differentials may include prostate problems, infections of the urinary tract or urethra, previous trauma and structural problems within the urethra.
